@#$% it was good! And that should put things into perspective in terms of the Supercharged Cadillac Margarita at El Torito.
A couple of months ago, I posted a guest review of El Torito’s Cadillac Margarita – the key descriptive word from her was “yummy”…gotta love that. And love it I did, so much so that I decided to drop in on an El Torito Cantina to see what they had going on.
The location of choice for my inaugural visit was Marina Del Ray – right on the water, where almost every table has a view. I quickly went straight to the margarita menu to check out the Cadillac Margarita and that is where I discovered the Supercharged version. The recipe looks like this:
Ultra-premium 1800 Select Silver Tequila with agave nectar, fresh lime, hand-shaken and served on-the-rocks with a side shot of Cointreau Noir.
Sounded good to me, so I got it. My sidekick ordered the standard Cadillac Margarita so we could compare. The drinks came out we took a sip of our respective margaritas then did a swap for comparison – I WON!. The Cadillac was good – without a doubt – but the supercharged was better. I give it a 4!
The food at El Torito is pretty good too – I did a trio of street tacos and loved it. And then I sipped another supercharged cadillac margarita while watching the sun go down. What a great ending to the day…
