We have another winner! 5’s are hard to find, but when we do it’s an awesome experience.
Rocco’s Tacos in Orlando was a new place and worth the visit. Great drinks, awesome collection of tequila, yummy food, and nice atmosphere. We heard about it on I-Drive and someone suggested we could walk there – NOT. Ok, I do walk 5 miles every day, but this was not an ideal place to get to on foot. So we hailed a cab and were there within a few short minutes.
Our “source” told us to ask for Sierra who just happened to be the bartender at the back bar, so that is where we parked. Pretty neat setup too – half the bar is outside and half inside – we took the outside location and introduced ourselves to Sierra.
What a great bartender she was! She knows tequila, something that is hard to find in most bar environments. (The average bartender seems to think Patron is the best of the best – SAD). I asked her to choose for me and she went with the Blood Orange Margarita which looks like this:
Milagro Barrel Select Reserve Blanco, Solerna Blood Orange Liquer, Fresh Lime Juice, Blood Orange Puree, Splash Of Grapefruit Juice.
Admittedly, I would never have ordered this on my own. Good thing I listened to Sierra because she delivered a 5!!!!!
As I sipped that stupendous drink I perused the Tequila list and spied Don Julio 1942. Great stuff! So I got a shot of that on the side. Keep in mind, I don’t throw back shots, this was for sipping and savoring.
And then it got even better because it turns out that Rocco’s Tacos has my absolute favorite – Clase Azul Reposado. It wasn’t on the Tequila List, but when I asked Sierra she knew they had it. Very hard to find on the East Coast, yet there it was smack in the middle of Orlando. So another shot glass and more sipping.
If you like margaritas, then you have to check out Rocco’s Tacos in Orlando. Ask for Sierra – tell her you read about her on The Ultimate Margarita.
